Pulse Exhibition Programme (PEP) is a curatorial initiative dedicated to bringing modern and contemporary art to the fore, with a particular emphasis on British modernism of the 20th century.
The programme originated in the summer of 2024 with an exhibition titled Chroma, held at Filet Gallery in Shoreditch. Chroma was the title and thematic focus of PEP’s first exhibition. Originating from khrōma, the Greek word for colour, chroma defines the purity of a colour or the intensity of its hue. The exhibition showcased a selection of contemporary, London-based artists and was developed through an open call circulated via the organisation’s Instagram.
Building on this initial exhibition, the website provides a permanent digital presence for PEP, functioning as both an archive, an active platform, and an online gallery, where critical essays can be read and artworks acquired. The essays offer art-historical context and curatorial grounding, positioning the works within wider critical and historical conversations while supporting their presentation and acquisition.
