Pulse Exhibition Programme (PEP) is an online curatorial initiative dedicated to bringing modern art to the fore, with a particular emphasis on artists who were pivotal in shaping 20th century British modernism. PEP offers the opportunity to acquire carefully selected secondary-market works, grounded in accompanying art-historical essays.
PEP originated in the summer of 2024 with an exhibition titled Chroma, held at Filet Gallery in Shoreditch, which served as both the title and thematic focus of PEP’s inaugural exhibition. Derived from khrōma, the Greek word for colour, chroma refers to the purity of a colour or the intensity of its hue. The exhibition showcased a selection of contemporary London-based artists and was developed through an open call circulated via the organisation’s Instagram.
Building on this initial exhibition the website provides a digital presence for PEP, functioning as an archive and an online gallery where critical essays can be read and artworks acquired. The essays offer art-historical context, drawing on established academic research and sources to position the works within wider historical conversations while supporting their presentation and acquisition.
